Biography
My name is Ashley Hervey. I am an educator certified in the areas of B-3 in education. I have an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a bachelors in Child Development. I have worked in the field of education for 14 years with children birth to school age as well as with children with developmental disorders including autism. I started my educational pathway in 2007 in Early Care and Education at Florissant Valley Community College and finished my bachelor’s at Central Methodist University. I continued to educate myself and later earned a bachelor’s in Education in 2020 and in 2021 earned my teacher's certification. I have four beautiful children; 3 wonderful young men and a daughter. My hobbies are studying, watching movies and just relaxing when I can find the time to.
Mission
The mission is to give children and their families an outstanding learning experience that not only benefits the child but the parent also. To do so, children will receive high quality care designed to fit all children learning needs in order to be successful. By having high expectations, all children are destined to succeed.
Philosophy of Education
My philosophy on education correlates with the Reggio Emilia approach to learning. My thoughts and beliefs to how children learn best aligns with the theorists Jean Piaget and Lev Vygotsky. I believe that children benefit from practices that have been diligently researched and implemented to develop the whole child. Children learn best from direct, intentional experiences geared towards their learning styles. Children are born with knowledge that only craves for providing the appropriate tools, resources and care for targeted growth and development. With the proper care, age appropriate curricula, choices and intentional experiences children will learn and develop skills that can last a lifetime.
Vision
My vision is to provide exceptional care to children and their families by sharing the knowledge, experience and skills I’ve obtained throughout my years to shape and boost children’s confidence and motivation to learn.
